Capital Gas Ship Management was honored with the prestigious “World LNG Shipping Award” 2023 during the 23rd LNG Summit & Awards, the world’s leading LNG forum, held in Athens this year.
Representing Capital Gas, the award was accepted by Jerry Kalogiratos, CEO of Capital Product Partners, Spyros Leousis, CCO of Capital Product Partners, and Miltos Zisis, General Manager of Capital Gas Ship Management.
The award recognizes the Group’s leadership at the forefront of Greek shipping and investment in vessels that will ease the transition to a net zero world and for its overall exceptional commercial and technical track record.
Notably, Capital Gas is the first shipping company in the world to order two medium-sized 22,000cbm Liquid CO2 carriers with the intention to service the green economy by providing a comprehensive maritime solution to the Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) industry. In addition, it operates a fleet of 21 dual-fuel LNG Carriers and two dual-fuel VLACs (Very Large Ammonia Carriers) with a total carrying capacity of approximately four million cubic meters.
In 2023, Capital Gas also introduced the Greek flag to two LNG vessels with plans to open a new manning agency in Greece and to expand the Greek-flagged fleet.
Capital Gas is part of the Capital Group, that controls a fleet of 108 ships with an overall tonnage of approximately 11 million tons deadweight (dwt), across the tanker, container, LNG, LPG/Ammonia, LCO2, and dry bulk segments.
