SHIPPING FOR A CARBON FREE WORLD

LCO2 carrier ACTIVE - Completion of Gas Trials

ACTIVE, a 22,000 CBM LCO₂ Multigas Carrier currently under construction at Hyundai Mipo Dockyard on behalf of Capital Clean Energy Carriers, recently reached a major industry milestone by completing the first large-scale two-week intensive CO₂ gas trials using Low-Pressure technology. This effort required meticulous planning, deep technical expertise, and a highly dedicated Capital Gas Ship Management team on-site. Over 54 truckloads of domestically sourced CO₂ were delivered, enabling a complete and successful validation of the cargo tanks and cargo management systems.

The LCO2 carrier ACTIVE is equipped with next-generation Low-Pressure technology (8.0 barg / –55°C), a key enabler for achieving the lowest unit freight cost in the emerging LCO₂ shipping sector. This capability is essential as the CCS industry scales and seeks efficient, commercially viable transport solutions.

We look forward to seeing ACTIVE play a meaningful role in advancing CO₂ transport at industrial scale and supporting the projects that will define the next chapter of global decarbonisation.
