🏆 LCO₂ Carrier 'Active' Wins Lloyd's List 'Ship of the Year' Award

We are proud to announce that the world's first 22,000 cbm LCO₂ carrier, 'Active', managed by Capital Gas Ship Management on behalf of Capital Clean Energy Carriers, has been awarded the 'Ship of the Year' at the Lloyd's List Greek Shipping Awards.

As Lloyd's List noted, 'Active' is "a landmark vessel of the future" that "opens a new chapter in future carbon transportation solutions and highlights shipping's role in advancing decarbonization. Constructed by HD Hyundai Mipo Dockyard as the first of four LCO₂ carriers for Capital Group, 'Active' is easily the largest vessel of its type yet built." It features revolutionary tank technology and multi-cargo flexibility, engineered with reinforced decks and enhanced auxiliary power capacity to support potential future installation of LCO₂ deck storage tanks and onboard carbon capture systems.

The award was accepted by Miltos Zisis, Managing Director of Capital Gas Ship Management, who highlighted the collective effort behind building this vessel: "It was not an easy task. It was a challenge that demanded hard work, engineering excellence, and collaboration across many disciplines."
