Capital Gas and Wärtsilä to partner in greenhouse gas reduction with Fleet Decarbonisation Programme

Piraeus, Greece October 5, 2022. Capital Gas Ship Management Corp. and the technology group Wärtsilä have agreed to partner in the development of a new Fleet Decarbonisation Programme aimed at achieving defined decarbonisation targets. Under the programme, Wärtsilä will assist Capital Gas with advanced planning, and with support in assessing and assuring the performance of investments designed to meet the company’s greenhouse gas reduction ambitions.

LR and LISCR award Design Approval for world’s first 30,000cbm liquified CO2 carrier

New storage tank design and materials to increase efficiency

Piraeus, Greece, September 15, 2022. Lloyd’s Register (LR) and Liberian International Ship and Corporate Registry (LISCR) have awarded Design Approval to Hyundai Mipo Dockyard (HMD) for the development of the world’s first 30,000cbm liquefied carbon dioxide carrier. The new carrier will incorporate a new type of steel in its tanks, supporting greater efficiencies in the carbon capture and storage (CCS) value chain.

Leading ship manager Capital Gas Ship Management Corp. (Capital Gas) has joined this venture with HMD and LR, advising on operational and commercial matters relating to the project for LCO2 carrier design development.

Capital Gas Ship Management Takes Delivery of LNG Carrier ‘Asklipios’

Piraeus, Greece, September 29, 2021. Capital Gas Ship Management Corp. took successful delivery today of the newbuilding LNG Carrier ‘Asklipios’, built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, S.Korea.

With cargo capacity of 174,000 m3, the vessel is highly efficient, propelled with XDF engines and equipped with the latest available technologies, including an air lubrication system and increased filling limits (excess 99%). It is the sixth of nine vessels to be delivered between 2020-2023. The vessel has been chartered to Cheniere for a period up to 6 years.

Piraeus, Greece, August 23, 2021. Capital Gas Ship Management Corp. took successful delivery today of the newbuilding LNG Carrier ‘Adamastos’, built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, S.Korea. With cargo capacity of 174,000 m3, the vessel is highly efficient, propelled with XDF engines and equipped with the latest available technologies, including an air lubrication system and increased filling limits (excess 99%). It is the fifth of nine vessels to be delivered between 2020-2023. The vessel has been chartered to Engie for a period up to 7 years.

Capital Gas Ship Management Takes Delivery of LNG Carrier ‘Attalos’

Piraeus, Greece, August 13, 2021. Capital Gas Ship Management Corp. took successful delivery today of the newbuilding LNG Carrier ‘Attalos’, built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, S.Korea. With cargo capacity of 174,000 m3, the vessel is highly efficient, propelled with XDF engines and equipped with the latest available technologies, including an air lubrication system and increased filling limits (excess 99%). It is the fourth of nine vessels to be delivered between 2020-2023. The vessel has been chartered to BP for a period up to 13 years.

With cargo capacity of 174,000 m3, the vessel is highly efficient, propelled with XDF engines and equipped with the latest available technologies, including an air lubrication system and increased filling limits (more than 99%). It is the third of seven sister ships to be delivered between 2020-2023. The vessel has been chartered to Cheniere for a period up to 6 years.
